Focus group sessions took place on the the following dates:

November 9:

  • Healthcare
  • Small Business Development
  • Communications & Community Involvement

November 30:

  • Human Services
  • Government
  • Professional Services

December 5:

  • Hospitality and Retail

January 23:

  • Education

On March 25, the Java Group reconvened for a research wrapup and strategy development meeting. During this two-hour meeting, WUPPDR strategic planners presented the group with four potential projects and strategies. Although the group saw value and potential in all four, the three strategies on the home page were selected in the interest of limiting the scope of efforts.

All of the selected projects fit together with a similar ”green” philosophy to both use and protect the County’s rich natural resource environment. The Java Group indicated significant interest in pursuing these projects further, so WUPPDR is now performing research and making personal contacts to determine the feasibility, suitability, and required inputs for the three projects. The outcomes of this research will determine next steps.
